Description
Have you always dreamed of writing a novel but don’t know where to start? Or started writing one but found yourself stuck in the middle and don’t know how to move forward? Or even completed a draft of two and still it’s not working the way you want it to?
This short course on how to construct a compelling plot is designed to help you kickstart your creativity and give you the tools you need to originate a compelling plot structure for your novel. We will focus on what makes a plot work, how to define structural beasts, twists and turns and how to know where to place key scenes in order to maximise the potential of your idea.
Suitable for writers of all levels you will be learning craft tips and tricks from award-winning and bestselling Scarborough based author, Rowan Coleman
About the tutor – Rowan Coleman (writing as Bella Ellis) is the internationally bestselling and award-winning author of fifteen novels including The Memory Book, The Summer Of Impossible Things and The Girl At The Window. Her latest novel From Now Until Forever will be published in August 2023.
A lifelong Brontë fan, under the Brontë-inspired pen name Bella Ellis, Rowan also writes the Brontë Mysteries – a carefully researched series of novels that imagine that before they were famous the Brontë Sisters were amateur detectives. The Vanished Bride, The Diabolical Bones and The Red Monarch are out now. A Gift of Poison will be published in February 2023

Please email us on enquiries@theleedslibrary.org.uk if you have any questions around access, and we will do everything that we can to accommodate you.
