Rush Hour Words with writer Richard Smyth @ The Leeds Library

by The Leeds Library

Description

As part of the Leeds Lit Fest 2019 a series of events have been programmed to give a welcome alternative to the rush hour commute.

So take time out of your busy day! Come along and hear writer  Richard Smyth talk about nature writing. Why do we love nature books so much? How is it that nature on the page has such power to excite, entrance and inspire us? Nature writing in English has a long history, and has taken many forms over the centuries. Today the field is as vibrantly crowded as ever. In this talk, Richard will take a wander through Britain’s wild writing heritage, asking why nature-writing matters, who gets to write it, and where does it go from here? .

This event is Pay What You Feel and has been made possible through support by Leeds Inspired and The Leeds Library. Please register for a ticket to avoid disappointment
