This class will take you through assessing your hardback cloth-bound book for repair, how to choose suitable materials to work with, and how to repair some of the more common problems with your books.

Aimed at those looking to repair their own collection, this class will also discuss how to avoid damaging your books and when it is best to call in a professional. A beginner friendly book repair class, although some experience of bookbinding is helpful. Participants are welcome to bring their own books but we recommend choosing non-sentimental items for your first repair. Please also note that we won’t be binding anything in leather or in boards.

The start of the class will include assessing what can be achieved in the time available and not all brought books will suit.
