Our next Book Club is on Monday 17th May, 5.30pm, Old Goriot by Honoré de Balzac (1835).

A witty and reflective study of the bourgeoisie after the French Revolution, and the two great human obsessions – love and money.

A printed copy is available to borrow from the collection and for free download on our eBooks platform.

The Leeds Library offers all Members the choice of two book clubs to join. One meets monthly on a Monday evening and the other meets monthly on a Tuesday morning. Currently both meet on Zoom but we hope that will change back to in person meetings in the Library in the coming months. Read more here.
