We hope that all is well with you and your families and that you have been able to pop into the Library to visit or that you plan to do so very soon. Please read the following information about changes that you need to be aware of.
The Wearing of Face Coverings in the Library
In light of the Government requiring face coverings to be worn in shops from Friday, it is requested that all Library Members, out of respect to staff and fellow Members, wear them within the Library at all times unless there is a medical reason that you are unable to do so. This is purely a request, however, and one which we will reiterate on your arrival at the Library. We will have masks available for Members to use.
Extended Opening Hours from Monday 3rd August
We are delighted to announce that we are increasing our August opening hours as follows: Monday – Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: 10am to 3pm; Thursday: 1pm to 6pm. We hope to increase these again in September all being well.
Pre-booking your Library Visit
You can drop into the Library during our opening hours or currently pre-book a timed slot via our Events page on the website. Pre-booking will continue until the end of July but will cease to be available from 3rd August.
Eating in the Library from Monday 3rd August
Liquid refreshments brought in by Members are currently permitted in the Library and from 3rd August food will also be permitted in Coffee Corner.
Membership Extension
Please read our previous update for details on how to extend your membership period for 3 months. If you would like to take up this offer then please return the form to us which is in the update no later than Monday 7th September.
Window Art
We hope that you love our fabulous new window art by local artist Jenny Tribillon which is a fitting welcome back for all of you and marks our reopening. Jenny will be creating new artworks on our windows in Autumn and Winter. Look out for them. Her work is really stunning.
Events
Details are on the events page of poetry events, our Book Club and quiz night all via Zoom along with a very special Library fundraiser by Veritas Paranormal UK live streamed from the Library this Saturday (25th) from 7.30pm. Will our ghost be caught on camera? Tune in via Facebook and find out!
