Choosing to make a gift in your Will means you will be ensuring the Library and its treasures live on for future generations, long after you are gone. It also means we can rely on committed, unrestricted giving with the capacity to sustain and expand the work we do.

The Priestly Circle

Everyone leaving a gift in their Will to the Leeds Library will join a special group of likeminded individuals in the Priestly Circle. Each year in November, to celebrate our founding anniversary date, we’ll hold a reception for members of the Priestly Circle where your future commitment is celebrated.

The Library is grateful for all bequests it receives, no matter what their size. Here are some examples of how a legacy gift can help us to keep turning the pages in the future:

£10,000 | could fund the cataloguing of a major collection

£30,000 | could fund the acquisitions budget for a whole year

£100,000 | could fund essential capital works, such as a new heating system

Leaving a gift in your Will is a very personal decision. In fact, it may be the most significant or sizeable charitable gift you’ve ever made. To help you with this process, our Legacy team are more than happy to offer support and guidance, should you prefer to talk things through before finalising your commitment. If you’d like to speak to someone about your gift, please get in touch with us by completing a Contact Us Form.

If you’ve already remembered The Leeds Library in your Will, we’d love to hear from you. Not only will this help us shape our future plans, but it also gives us an opportunity to thank you properly and keep you informed of the work that we’re doing. The information you share with us will be treated as confidential and won’t be legally binding. Simply email or telephone us at 0113 245 3071

Alternatively, you can complete a declaration form, detailing the type and approximate value of the gift you’d like to make. Whatever the size of your bequest, you can choose to designate this to a specific area of our work or mark it as an unrestricted bequest. Unrestricted funding is really important to the Trust, as this gives us the freedom and flexibility to invest your gift in the greatest area of need when we receive it.
