Come and celebrate Yorkshire Day with your fellow members at the Leeds Library!
On Thursday 1st August, we are celebrating God’s Own Country with an event that will include a traditional afternoon tea with a celebratory drink; tea, coffee, a quiz, and games with prizes to be won.

Fundraising events
The Leeds Library has embarked on its next chapter, securing the future of the library for the next 250 years. Completion of Phase II of the Next Chapter Project will see the Library open new premises adjoining our existing, historic home. The move is an investment in our future: 42,000 books stored off-site will be united under one roof; we will become fully-accessible for the first time in our history; and a dedicated event and education space will allow us to deliver a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary programme, designed to celebrate the magic of language, storytelling and reading.
To support this development, the Library will be hosting a number of fundraising events to raise much-needed funds for the building project. By attending one of these events, you will be directly contributing to the success of the library, and securing its future for generations to come.
A note about accessibility. Unfortunately, our Grade II* listed building is not currently fully accessible. We have a stair lift from the ground floor foyer to the first floor but are unable to install a through-floor lift due to the building’s historic status. Please email us on enquiries@theleedslibrary.org.uk if you have any questions around access, and we will do everything that we can to accommodate you.
