Join us at the Leeds Library to hear more about Libraries in Leeds: A Historical Survey 1152-c.1939 by Peter Morrish, which surveys 800 years of libraries in Leeds, from Kirkstall Abbey through the development of private, commercial, specialist, academic and public libraries. The Leeds Library itself features, and there will be a display of items from the library of the antiquarian Ralph Thoresby (1658-1725), now in the Thoresby Society’s archives.
