The Overdue Comedy Club is a brand new midweek night of stand up comedy to hit Leeds City Centre.  Launching on Thursday October 6th at The Leeds Library, the oldest surviving subscription library in the British Isles, it promises to be a truly unique night of first class entertainment.

The show will feature some of the best TV acts on the circuit as well as a few new faces taking the comedy scene by storm.

Housed within the beautiful Georgian building of The Leeds Library and surrounded by our stunning collection of rare and unique books, it provides a perfect, intimate experience for both the audience and the acts.

Ben Norris

As seen on Mock the Week, The Comedy Store, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and They Think it’s all Over. He has written and performed three solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival, and supported Ed Byrne on his 2013 UK tour and also appeared at the Hammersmith Apollo. He’s been performing comedy since 1993 and is renowned for his incredibly relaxed stage persona and his innate ability to improvise as well as deliver sharply crafted material.

Edinburgh Best Newcomer Nominee and English Comedian Of The Year Winner, Brennan is a multi-award winning working class wordsmith. He’s a true Northern voice who has also appeared on Survival Of The Fittest (ITV), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV) Live At The Comedy Store (Comedy Central) and has racked up over 6 million YouTube hits for his stint on Top Gear (BBC).


Seeta Wrightson

BBC New Comedy Awards semi-finalist, 2021.

Originally from Leeds, Seeta is taking the stand-up circuit by storm. As the Yorkshire Evening Post put it recently: “Expect high energy, some erratic movements and be prepared for stories with twists you may not see coming

Our host for the night is local comedian Chris Lum

One of the warmest MC’s on the circuit, Chris is also an actor, writer, director, producer, editor, comedian, and legendary improviser. His shows include The Discount Comedy Checkout and The Halls of the Ridiculous (both at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe).

Chris is also a talented impressionist and featured on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three) and Britain’s Got Talent (ITV 1).
