Leeds Lit Fest presents
A C Grayling’s new book The Good State is a brilliant and urgent follow up to his book about the referendum, Democracy and its Crisis, this time looking at the fundamental principles of democracy, the failures of the Westminster Model, which is replicated in 50 democracies around the globe, including the US, Australia, India etc and what we need to do to protect ourselves against populism and create a constitutional framework that is fit for purpose.
Professor AC Grayling is the Master of the New College of the Humanities, London, and its Professor of Philosophy. He is the author of over thirty books of philosophy, biography, history of ideas, and essays. He was for a number of years a columnist on the Guardian, the Times, and Prospect magazine.
