Tim Ellis lives in Harrogate where he runs a gardening business and was a long time organiser of the town’s open mic evening “Poems, Prose and Pints”. Nature, foreign travel, and environmental politics inspire the great majority of his poems. He has published two collections with small presses and self-published four, most recently “Birder in the Bushveld” about wildlife in South Africa. He has won a number of prizes and was longlisted in the 2021 National Poetry Competition. He is also well-known at festivals, poetry slams and open mics throughout the North of England and once featured on ITV’s Britains Got Talent.
