Join us for a poetry reading from three poets representing Marsden based Maytree Press. Clint Wastling’s poetry has been published widely in literary magazines; Layers was published by Maytree Press in 2019. His novel, The Geology of Desire, is an LGBTQ thriller set around Hull during World War II Whitby in the 1980’s (Stairwell Books). Joe Williams is a writer and performing poet; The Taking Part was published in 2021. He is also celebrated for his verse novella An Otley Run and terrified and enthralled audiences and readers with This Is Virus, a sequence of erasure poems from B…s J…..n’s letter to the UK during the first Covid lockdown. Hannah Stone is well known to Leeds Library members as the host of her monthly Nowt But Verse conversations. Swn y Morloi was Maytree’s inaugural poetry volume, in 2019 and her work as poet-theologian in residence at Leeds Church Institute formed the basis for Maytree number 23, Reflections, which was launched at last year’s Leeds Lit Fest.
