Description
Ruth Steinberg is Hannah Stone’s guest for Nowt but Verse on Friday 23rd July.
Ruth describes herself as a Geordie Jewish woman, brought up in Newcastle upon Tyne in the1950s. She is a writer and storyteller, who has crafted a one woman show, ‘A Flower is Not a Rat’, an inviting weave of Jewish tales, Yiddish songs, and poems. With local poet Terry Simpson she is involved in an on-going collaboration, exploring the common ground they have shared for over 30 years and their differences, (he is a Yorkshire-born gentile), using song, poetry, story and jokes. Join us as usual for an entertaining lunchtime poetry chat.
To book your place, register on the Eventbrite link here and you will be emailed a Zoom link to the event on Thursday 22nd July at 5.30pm and again at 11.30am on Friday 23rd. Booking closes at 11.00am. Please check your spam as well for the email if it doesn’t appear. This event will start at 1pm with around 40 minutes of conversation between the poets followed by 10 mins of questions from the audience with no open mic. We look forward to entertaining you with our conversation.
