Nowt But Verse

by The Leeds Library

Description

Nowt But Verse with Hannah Stone and guest Moira Garland

We’re delighted to reactivate Nowt But Verse, the monthly Friday lunchtime discussion between poet Hannah Stone and her chosen guest. We’ve transferred this view into the lives and work of local poets from the physical building of the Leeds Library to the virtual surrounds of Zoom whilst we are unable to access the Library.

To book your place, register here on Eventbrite and you will be emailed a Zoom link to the event on Thursday 4 June. This event usually fits into a lunch break so we are using a 1pm to 2pm slot, with around 40 minutes of conversation between the poets followed by 10 mins of questions from the audience.

This is a free event with an option to donate with all proceeds going to the Leeds Library.

First up on 5 June is Moira Garland, a poet and prose writer who draws on her experience of living in Hong Kong as well as Yorkshire. Moira has been published in Leeds’ own prestigious journal Strix and many anthologies and is a former winner of the Leeds Peace Poetry Prize. She has also taken part in the Leeds Lieder poets and composers forum. We look forward to welcoming you to our conversation.

Future dates will be 26 June ,17 July, 7 August and 29 August. Guests to be announced soon.
