Description
Our next Book Club is on Monday 19th April, 5.30pm, The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver (2010), winner of the Orange Prize.
“Kingsolver’s exploration (through all five senses) of Mexican and American geographies, weather, people, food, cultures, politics, languages and era-bound events—Hoover through World War II, Truman, Nagasaki—is masterful, and a reader receives the great gift of entering not one but several worlds.” — THE SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE
A printed copy is available to borrow from the collection and an audio copy is available for free download on our eBooks platform.
We’ll Zoom our discussion on Monday 19th April at 5.30pm and if you would like to join that then please email me and I’ll send you a Zoom link nearer the time: gellf@theleedslibrary.org.uk.
Further dates: Monday 17th May, 5.30pm, title tba.
The Leeds Library offers all Members the choice of two book clubs to join. One meets monthly on a Monday evening and the other meets monthly on a Tuesday morning. Currently both meet on Zoom but we hope that will change back to in person meetings in the Library in the coming months. Read more here.
