Description
Books and Bubbles Librarian’s tour of The Leeds Library: Exclusive, in-depth tours of the library and its treasures with one of our librarians and a glass of fizz*
Take the opportunity for a behind-the-scenes tour of the oldest surviving subscription library in the country.
You’ll be guided by one of our librarians, and invited to take a detailed look at some of the unique treasures of our collections that are rarely seen by the public.
Each tour lasts for one hour and will include the history of the library and how it developed from it’s founding in 1768, how books for the catalogue are chosen, and then a look at some of the rare, unique and historic treasures of the collection. Attendees will also be given a glass of fizz or hot drink and slice of cake to enjoy in the beautiful surroundings of our Grade II* listed, Regency-era building in the heart of Leeds.
*Non-alcoholic options also available. Please send any enquiries to enquiries@theleedslibrary.org.uk
