Nowt But Verse

by The Leeds Library

Description

Nowt But Verse with Hannah Stone and guest Nick Allen

Nowt but Verse has joined generation Zoom, and after a great session with Moira Garland recently we look forward to the second of our guests for June. On Friday 26 June at 1pm, Hannah Stone will be joined by Nick Allen. Nick’s first collection the riding and his pamphlet the necessary line were both published by Half Moon Books, Otley. His collaboration with York based artist Myles Linley, between two rivers, which looks at the different beauty of the area around the Humber, was published by Maytree Press, Marsden, for whom he co-edited an anthology of music festivals, Green Fields. His poetry has appeared in recent anthologies Verse Matters and The Valley Press Anthology of Prose Poetry, as well as the periodicals The Interpreter’s House, Poetry Salzburg Review and Stand. He helps organise Rhubarb at the Triangle, a spoken word evening in Shipley, West Yorkshire.

We’ve transferred this view into the lives and work of local poets from the physical building of the Leeds Library to the virtual surrounds of Zoom whilst we are unable to access the Library.

To book your place, register here on Eventbrite and you will be emailed a Zoom link to the event on Thursday 25 June. This event will start at 1pm with around 40 minutes of conversation between the poets followed by 10 mins of questions from the audience with no open mic.

This is a free event with an option to donate with all proceeds going to the Leeds Library.

Future dates will be 17 July, 7 August and 29 August. Guests to be announced soon.
