Tradesmen and women
The work of men and women on behalf of the Leeds Library is documented in our archives and it is planned here both to create a name index and to record their work. Many of these people are otherwise little known besides entries in trade directories or census returns.
- James Allan & Son of Glasgow (fl. 1836-c. 1960) – iron founder
- John Miers (fl. 1779-1781) – painter and decorator
- Frances Walker (fl. 1770-1779) – painter and decorator
- Samuel Walker (fl. 1769) – painter and decorator
