The Leeds Library began life modestly in 1768 above a bookseller’s shop. Today the library is a charity and has a wonderful collection of books and periodicals housed in a fine two hundred year-old building.

EASTER HOLIDAYS: The library will be closed on Good Friday 18, Saturday 19, Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 April. We will reopen as normal on Wednesday 23 April at 10.00am.


The Library is holding a Book Sale on Saturday 24th May from 10am until 3pm. The sale will take place in the entrance foyer and all are welcome.

The library will be open as usual to members (from 9.30am to 1.00 pm) but we will show visitors around on the hour from 10am until 2pm.

If you have any books, CDs or DVDs that you would like to donate for the sale please bring them to the counter no later than Friday 16th May.
